This is the interior of Fire Station Number 1. Left to right: (first name unknown) Hikida, unidentified, Yoshio Akada, and Mr. Sano. The fire station was one of the few buildings with a refrigerator. Mr. Sano owned the bathhouse underneath the Panama Hotel in Seattle, Washington, before World War II.

The Fukuhara family included Shigesaburo and Yasuko Fukuhara (c. 1905-1938) and their children Ruth Aiko Fukuhara (1921-1986), Francis Masateru Fukuhara (1925-2016), and Henry Kiyotaka Fukuhara (1928-1977). Kibei female. Born 1917 in Seattle, Washington. As a child, sent to Japan for education, and returned to the U.S. in the 1930s. Was married living in Glendale, California, when World War II started. During the war, was removed to the Manzanar concentration camp, California. After leaving camp, returned to California.

Longtime member and supporter of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL).

After leaving camp, returned to Seattle, Washington, and eventually established a career as a flight attendant.
