Caption on reverse [translation]: "Nineteen year old sword dancing instructor criticizes dance and revue. Mr. Oumei [sp?] Kawai's only daughter, Tsuruko (19), practices the sword dance every day as her father's substitute. She says, "In such a time of emergency, we should not practice frivolous dances or revues. The daughters of the leisure class should practice sword dancing and train themselves instead." However, she performed a feminine passage from Ota Dokan. The photo is the sword dancing instructor, Miss Tsuruko Kawai."
