Caption on reverse [translation]: "During his trip to Manchuria, Ryushi Kawabata, the last Western painter, who was nominated to be a member of the Imperial Art Institute, arrived at Tokyo Station at 9 p.m. on the 27th, escorted by his second son, Takashi, 26. He announced that he had given his resignation to Mr. Kitaura. The photo is Kawabata, center, and his son, right."
