Caption on reverse [translation]: "Statue of 'Masaoka,' who was a local retainer to the Date family. Built at Shokaku Temple in Nakameguro. (Tokyo) July 11, 1934. The statue of 'Masaoka' will be built at Shokaku Temple in Nakameguro, where she spent her last day. She tried to help her Date master during the family's trouble, and she suffered from much persecution and havoc. Her statue is being sculpted by Fujitaro Nita, and an unveiling ceremony will be held in October. The photos are 1, the statue of Masaoka and the sculptor, Mr. Nita." Caption on reverse of second photo [translation]: "Fujitaro Nita."
