Caption on front [translation]: "Umeyo Nakano. 1. Artist; 2. Shingu-cho, Wakayama; 3. February 15, 1905; 4. Municipal women's commercial school; 5. Shingu-cho, Wakayama; 6. Dolls, Nagauta, [?]; 7. After graduating she worked in her family's business, but she had an interest for Japanese painting. She changed from photography to Western paint. She got married to Western painter Mr. Nakano at age 22. In the fall of 1931 she won a prize at an art exhibition. Since then she has flourished and Mr. Hamachi says she shows promise."
