Caption on reverse [translation]: "(Tokyo) January 8, 1936. The new yokozuna Musashiyama, who withdrew from the sumo ring in the midway with four defeats, entered Tokyo University Hospital on the night of the 28th. The reasons for his defeats are dyspepsia, rheumatism and an injury to the right knee joint, so he entered the hospital. As you can see, he is a big patient at 6 shaku 2 sun [approx. 6 feet] and 30 kan [approx. 248 pounds], so his bed had to be specially made."
