Photograph of an American service man identified as Lt. Kule holding up a Japanese flag covered in writing. These flags are known as yosegaki hinomaru or good luck flags and were covered in messages from friends, family and neighbors wishing the saftey of the Japanese solider who was deploying. Written on both the front and the back of the photograph is "Lt. Jule and Jap flag" in ink.
