Shigeko Kitamoto and her children say goodbye to friends on the day of exclusion from their home on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Front, left to right: Ilohio Narte (kneeling) holding Frank Kitamoto. Back, left to right: An unidentified man holding Jane Kitamoto, Lilly Kitamoto, Shigeko Kitamoto, Frances Kitamoto and Felix Narte. The Nartes had worked for Mrs. Shigeko Kitamoto and she had made arrangements for them to look after the farm while the family was interned. The Kitamoto family returned to Bainbridge Island after three years to find that the farm had been well taken care of by these men. The Kitamotos gave them some land in gratitude for all that they had done.
