Kaneji and Sally (Fujii) Domoto Collection

Letter from New York. Mostly discusses relations with Kan's employer (landscape architect Shogo Myaida) on the gardening job he's doing for the World's Fair. Feels extorted by his boss (landscape architect Nagao Sakurai). Frustrated that Sakurai also wants him to act as a Japanese interpreter; struggles because his Japanese isn't very good. Gives a detailed account of how much he earns and his living expenses. Practicing drafting, thinking about applying to schools. Considering whether to pursue landscape or architecture. Writes about what he's eating, how he's spending time in New York and learning to get around.
