Los Angeles, California

Nisei male. Born February 3, 1924, in Caldwell, Idaho. In the early 1930s, sent with brothers to live in the Shonien orphanage in Los Angeles after mother develops tuberculosis. Remained in Shonien until the onset of World War II. During the war, removed with a friend's family to the Santa Anita Assembly Center, California, and the Rohwer concentration camp, Arkansas. Left camp to live and work in Chicago, Illinois, and served with the Military Intelligence Service in Japan during the U.S. occupation.
