Served in the Military Intelligence Service as an interpreter in Japan. After military service, moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and became involved with the Japanese American Citizens League.

During World War II, removed to the Salinas Assembly Center, California, and Poston concentration camp, Arizona.
