Incarcerated at the Puyallup Assembly Center, Washington, and Minidoka concentration camp, Idaho. Resisted draft orders and was imprisoned at McNeil Island Penitentiary, Washington. Resettled in Seattle area after release.

During World War II, removed with family to the Manzanar concentration camp, California, and transferred to the Minidoka concentration camp, Idaho. After leaving camp, lived and worked in Chicago for a time before eventually returning to Bainbridge.

Nisei male. Born July 22, 1928, in Seattle, Washington. Grew up in Seattle before being removed to the Puyallup Assembly Center, Washington, and the Minidoka concentration camp, Idaho. Following World War II, worked for the U.S. Department of State as a foreign service officer.

Nisei female. Born December 6, 1919, in Winslow, Washington. Was fired from job as a domestic following the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Removed to Manzanar concentration camp, California, and later transferred to Minidoka concentration camp, Idaho. Following World War II, returned to Bainbridge Island, Washington.

Nisei male. Born May 15, 1930, in Marysville, California. Family operated a farm prior to World War II. Following the bombing of Pearl Harbor, was removed to the Merced Assembly Center, California, and Granada (Amache) concentration camp, Colorado. Remained in Colorado after the war.

Nisei male, born March 14, 1929, in Florin California. Grew up in Florin, where parents ran a farm. Following the bombing of Pearl Harbor, removed with family to the Manzanar concentration camp, California. After the war, served in the Air Force and became an engineer.

Nisei female. Born February 10, 1921, in Los Angeles, California. Grew up in Santa Monica, California. Married prior to World War II. During the war, removed with husband to the Manzanar concentration camp, California. Left camp for Reno, Nevada, and eventually moved to Los Angeles.

Nisei female. Born December 28, 1918, in La Crescenta, California. Grew up in California where father operated a flower business. During World War II, removed to the Manzanar concentration camp, California. Lived in Chicago and New York after leaving camp, before eventually returning to California.

Nisei female. Born July 25, 1920, in San Juan Bautista, California. Raised in Watsonville, California, and married prior to World War II. During the war, was removed to the Salinas Assembly Center, California, and the Poston concentration camp, Arizona. After leaving camp, returned to Watsonville.

Nisei male. Recruited to teach at the army's language school in fall of 1941. Helped to establish the Military Intelligence Service Language School in Presidio San Francisco and helped with the move to Minnesota. Postwar, established a career teaching with the Defense Language Institute.

Nisei female. Born November 25, 1930, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Grew up in the Aala neighborhood of Honolulu before the war, where parents operated a hat cleaning business. Directly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, father was arrested by the FBI and interned in several camps.

Nisei male. Born January 5, 1944, in the Manzanar concentration camp, California. After World War II, left camp with family for the Los Angeles area, where parents had lived before the war. Established a career as an engineer. Active in the Little Tokyo Service Center.

Nisei male. Born 1934 in Guadalupe, California. During World War II, removed to the Tulare Assembly Center, California, and the Gila River concentration camp, Arizona. After leaving camp, returned to the Sacramento area. Served in the U.S. Air Force, and eventually resettled in Minnesota.

Yonsei male. Born February 14, 1953, in Los Angeles, California. Grew up in Los Angeles. After graduating from college, took over the family's prestigious mortuary business. Active in several community organizations in Los Angeles' Little Tokyo including Nisei Week and the Japanese American National Museum.

Nisei female. Born January 2, 1920, in Monterey Park, California. Grew up in several different places in California, where parents ran truck farming businesses. During World War II, removed to the Manzanar concentration camp, California. After leaving camp, returned to the Pasadena area of California.
