Yonsei male. Born February 14, 1953, in Los Angeles, California. Grew up in Los Angeles. After graduating from college, took over the family's prestigious mortuary business. Active in several community organizations in Los Angeles' Little Tokyo including Nisei Week and the Japanese American National Museum.

Nisei male. Born 1934 in Guadalupe, California. During World War II, removed to the Tulare Assembly Center, California, and the Gila River concentration camp, Arizona. After leaving camp, returned to the Sacramento area. Served in the U.S. Air Force, and eventually resettled in Minnesota.

Nisei female. Born September 20, 1926, in Seattle, Washington. Grew up in Seattle during the Great Depression. In the late 1930s, moved with family to the Los Angeles area. During World War II, removed to the Jerome concentration camp, Arkansas. After camp, resettled in Chicago.

Nisei male. Born January 5, 1944, in the Manzanar concentration camp, California. After World War II, left camp with family for the Los Angeles area, where parents had lived before the war. Established a career as an engineer. Active in the Little Tokyo Service Center.

During World War II, removed to the Manzanar concentration camp, California. After leaving camp, returned to the Pasadena area of California.

Nisei female. Born December 25, 1924, in Selma, California. Grew up in Parlier, Californa, where family worked on a farm. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, removed to the Gila River concentration camp, Arizona. Left camp to work in Indianapolis, Indiana, before settling permanently in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Nisei male. Born September 23, 1925, in Seattle, Washington. Spent prewar childhood in Seattle's Nihonmachi. Incarcerated at Puyallup Assembly Center, Washington, and Minidoka concentration camp, Idaho. Refused to participate in the draft and was imprisoned at McNeil Island Penitentiary, Washington, for draft resistance. Resettled in Seattle.

Ni-ten-gosei (half Nisei, half Sansei) female. Born June 3, 1932, in Seattle, Washington. Incarcerated at the Puyallup Assembly Center, Washington; Minidoka concentration camp, Idaho; and Tule Lake segregation center, California. Returned to Seattle after the war and stayed temporarily at the Seattle Japanese Language School.

Nisei male. Born August 16, 1917. Volunteered for the military in March 1941. During the war, served with the Military Intelligence Service as head of the interrogation section in New Guinea and the Philippines as well as for the war crimes trials during the occupation of Japan.
