Nisei male. Born August 15, 1926, in Los Angeles, California, where father ran a fruit stand and mother was a Japanese language school teacher. During World War II, was removed to the Manzanar concentration camp, California. Left camp and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, eventually establishing a career in chemistry.

Nisei male. Born March 13, 1927, in San Francisco, California. Grew up in Los Angeles, California. During World War II, was removed to the Manzanar concentration camp, California. One of the major players in the movement for Japanese American redress and reparations, Mr. Hohri founded the National Council for Japanese American Redress (NCJAR).

Narrator Hiroki Kimiko Keaveney

Yonsei. Born in Los Angeles, California, but raised in Ohio. During World War II, members of their family were incarcerated in the Manzanar and Tule Lake concentration camps in California. Graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Ethnic Studies. Moved to Chicago, involved in numerous community groups.

Nisei male. Born January 5, 1944, in the Manzanar concentration camp, California. After World War II, left camp with family for the Los Angeles area, where parents had lived before the war. Established a career as an engineer. Active in the Little Tokyo Service Center.

During World War II, removed to the Pomona Assembly Center, California, and the Heart Mountain concentration camp, Wyoming, and Gila River concentration camp, Arizona. Returned to Azusa after leaving camp worked for the Forest Service.

During the war, removed to the Pomona Assembly Center, California, and the Heart Mountain concentration camp, Wyoming. Was a key person heading Heart Mountain's agricultural program. Served in the Military Intelligence Service in Korea.

Nisei female. Born April 23, 1924, in Baldwin Park, California. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, moved with sister to New York under sponsorship of uncle to avoid incarceration. Attended school in New York before marrying and eventually returning to California. Active in numerous community and social service organizations in the Los Angeles area.
