Nisei male. Born January 31, 1918, in Kealakekua, Hawai'i, where his father was a Congregational preacher. During World War II, served with the 100th Battalion in Europe. In the 1950s, was active in Hawai'i's Democratic Party and campaign for statehood.

Nisei male. Born 1920 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Grew up in the Philadelphia area. During World War II, volunteered for the military and served with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team in Europe. After service, returned to Philadelphia, married and raised a family.

Volunteered for the military out of Poston, and joined the 442nd Regimental Combat Team in Europe as a replacement troop. Following military service, returned to Watsonville.

The photos depict Art's life in prewar Peru, as well as his activities in Crystal City internment camp, Texas, and his military service in Europe.
