Sansei female. Born March 27, 1934, in San Francisco, California. Parents were both Kibei from Seattle, Washington, and Bakersfield, California. Grew up in San Francisco, California, where father was in sales. During World War II, removed to the Gila River concentration camp, Arizona. After father signed "no-no" on the so-called "loyalty questionnaire," transferred to the Tule Lake concentration camp, California. After leaving camp, returned to San Francisco.
