Nisei male. Born June 1, 1912, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Grew up in Honolulu, where father ran a taxi business. Was serving with the Hawaii Territorial 298th Infantry when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. Went to the mainland for training at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. Transferred to the Military Intelligence Service and was asked to help select the Nisei volunteers for the Merrill's Marauders. Served as an interpreter with the Merrill's Marauders in Burma.
