Shiuko Sakai Collection

Black and white photographic print of (from left) Yoshiko Saito and Aki Saito wearing dark coats and standing in front of a car, Olinda Saito’s sisters, who accompanied Olinda and Shiuko to Ueda. Olinda was a Japanese citizen whose father was Japanese consul in Sao Paolo, Brazil before WWII. He returned to Japan before WWII began. Donor met Olinda when Olinda began working as librarian at Detachment S, the officers school. Inscribed on back: "OCT 49/UEDA."
