Caption on reverse [translation]: "(Tokyo) June 16, 1936. Dr. Shumei Okawa, who is a civilian accessory of the 5.15 Incident, President of [?] (51), was judged [?] of Chief Justice Shimizu as an accessory to the Navy on December 24th last year. He was referred to [?] and received a penalty of five years' imprisonment ([?]), but his punishment was postponed to treat an illness. However, he recovered completely and he left for prison with attorneys Utsuonomiya and Ohara on the 16th at 10 a.m. He was arrested the same day and time four years ago, on a train going to Tohoku, where he was to give a lecture. He appeared at the district of Prosecutor [?], led by Prosecutor Tanamichi. First he will go to Ichigaya prison at 11 a.m., and after a couple of days he will be moved to Toyotama prison. The photo is 1, [?] Dr. Okawa [?]."
