DESCRIPTION
Text on front: "The 42,100 - ton battle cruiser, HMS Hood, visited Honolulu from June 6 to 12, 1924, on a world cruise with six other British battleships, docking at Pier 2, which was the only local wharf large enough to accommodate her at that time. Designed during the World war and redesigned after the battle of Jutland to provide heavier armament, the Hood was launched August 22, 1918, and she was completed March 5, 1920, at an estimated cost of $35,000,000. The Hood was 860 feet 7 inches long overall, had a beam of 105 feet 2-1/2 inches and maximum draft of 31-1/2 feet. Her displacement was 42,100 tons and her complement was 1,341 men."
