Caption on reverse [translation]: "Communications Minister Koizumi Presents Colonel Lindbergh with the Order of the Rising Sun, 3rd Class. Col. Lindbergh, accompanied by Councillor Neville of the American embassy and his wife Anne, visited the Ministry of Communications at 9:50 a.m. on the 10th to be conferred with the Order of the Rising Sun, 3rd Class and met with Civil Aviation Bureau Director Togawa in his office. After giving a statement on this honor, he was then taken by the director to Minister Koizumi's office where he was presented with the medal. The group departed at 10:35 a.m. Photograph: 1. Col. Lindbergh being presented wtih the medal by Communications Minister Koizumi, with his wife by his side."
