Two letters: one check-in from Tad to his parents, one letter to Tad from Ted Matsushima. In the first letter, Tad thanks his parents for sending candy for Valentine's Day, mentions measles is going around camp, and asks for $25. Ted's letter is more thorough: he scolds Tad for not telling him where he was, says John Miyasaki is "with the other half of Co. D," and says his school in Minnesota is tough. Ted says the other Camp Blanding boys in Minnesota with him are Claude, Mimaki, Tomohiro, Kimato, Ikemoto, Hara, and Jack Murakami. He heard that Tad only got a 5-day furlough but got an airplane ride home. Ted hasn't been home yet. Mentions that his friend Bob Shimatsu is at Fort Meade and says to give his regards to Shiro and all the rest. Parents' note on envelope back: 143 Friday Feb. 23, 1945
