Mayor Charles Royer of Seattle, Washington, signs the proclamation for the Day of Remembrance. Behind him (left to right): Henry Miyatake, Shosuke Sasaki, Arlene Oki, Ron Mamiya, Floyd Schmoe, Cherry Kinoshita, and Dr. Minoru Masuda. Annual Day of Remembrance ceremonies are held in many Japanese American communities on or around February 19th, the day Executive Order 9066 was signed.
