CSU Dominguez Hills George and Mitzi Naohara Papers

Photographed is Sgt. Okeef standing on a bridge. The photo was probably taken in Korea. George Nobuo Naohara's handwritten notes described Sgt. Okeef in the scrapbook: Okeef was G-1, but he had many friends of Nisei G-2 and also spoke in Japanese. After he was discharged from the army, he often visited George Naohara Barber Shop in Gardena, California. About 10 veterans gathered in a Japanese restaurant in Gardena and had a good time. The caption reads: Sgt. Okeef-san. Okeef-san, thinking of good old day, Kokura, Japan. Item from: George Naohara scrapbook: Korean War and before leaving Japan (csudh_nao_0600).
