Alameda Japanese American History Project: Digital Stories Collection

George Fukayama was born in Los Angeles, California, on February 21, 1926. During World War II, he served with the Military Intelligence Service and was assigned to ATIS (Allied Translator Interpreter Section) during the occupation of Japan after the war. Moved to Alameda, California, after military service.
