Alameda Japanese American History Project: Family and Community Collection

Caption below photo: Mataichi Osaka poses in his Alameda, CA home at a desk, reading. Likely a self portrait. The marble bust on the top of the shelf appears in other photos of his living room. A portrait of his daughter, Hatsuyo, is above his head. Inside the bookcase are books with Japanese language titles. There are several self portraits in Mataichi's home with images of Caucasians on the wall. Note his photo albums in the foreground. circa 1910-1920s.
