Caption below photo: Issei men and women pose at Leland Standford Junior University near Palo Alto, CA., circa 1910-1920s. It's possible they are attending as students as there was a Japanese club on campus by the early 1900s and university president David Starr Jordan was interested in Japanese events and people. they could be visiting the campus. A number of Issei worked at the campus and were not students.
