Caption below photo: Takuritsu Morita and biplane, circa 1919 to the mid 1920s. Unseen in this version of the photograph are wooden hangars that resemble those at Durant Field in East Oakland, in operation for a few years beginning in 1919, its site was soon developed, replaced by factories. Morita lived in Oakland from 1915 to about 1919, then moved to Alameda, CA., where he lived until 1933. Location information courtesy Alameda historian Woody Minor.
