Alameda Japanese American History Project: Family and Community Collection

Caption below photo: Trophy received by Takuritsu Morita of Alameda, CA, for his service to the Japanese school (gakuen) in Alameda. He lived there until 1933, then moved south to Mountain View, CA, where he continued to teach at a similar school. He began teaching in Alame3da, 1916. The oddity is that by the date of October 10, 1936, he was in Mountain View. Perhaps the school honored him regardless of where he was living in 1936.

October 10, 1936
