Alameda Japanese American History Project: Family and Community Collection

Caption below photo: Alameda Japanese Association Building and Japanese Language School. 2256 Pacific Avenue, Alameda, CA. At center is Takuritsu Morita, an instructor at the school. The small size of the two palm trees and blank sign just above the 2256 address indicates this image is from the early part of the association's existence at the 2256 address, possibly 1916. In the 1915 Polk address directory (probably compiled in 1914), the association is listed at 2306 Pacific.
