Alameda Japanese American History Project: Family and Community Collection

Caption below photo: Issei man poses on a fence in Alameda, CA., in front of a water storage tank. A well is drilled and the wind turning the windmill pumps the water into the storage tank. Eventually, Alameda had water pumping stations in a few locations, but individuals had their own windmills and tank as well.
