Alameda Japanese American History Project: Family and Community Collection

Caption below photo: Nicely dressed with a scarf and beret is Shigeko "Cookie" Koga, as she poses at the Buddhist Temple of Alameda, CA, on February 26, 1929. She had just married Matao Koga and this photo was probably shot not long after the wedding, as she prepared to go on her honeymoon. The lacy sleeves around her wrist are part of her gloves. in the 1930s, gloves with dramatic over the top designs were popular.
