DESCRIPTION
The album contains photos and documents from Joe Iwataki’s military service in WWII including time at MIS language school and posting to the Pacitic theatre. Collection includes material from MIS reunions. Joe Iwataki was born in Alameda, California and enlisted in the military in Spring of 1941. After Pearl Harbor he was assigned to guard duty at a site on the California Nevada border before being sent for training at the MIS language school at Camp Savage in Minnesota. Iwataki served in Australia and the Phillipines.
