In the upper right corner in place of postage is “Internee of War/Free Mail” written in black ink. Postmarked May 31, 1943. In red pencil “June 17-43 54” is written. Along the left side of the envelope is clear tape with the number 149 on it. The tape wraps around to the back and has the words “EXAMINED BY” printed on the tape. The letter is dated May 29, 1943, and is written in Japanese and has not been translated.",
