    "description": "Color slide of a float in the Rose Festival Parade driving down W Burnside in front of a crowd outside the Shoreline Hotel.  The float has two children, one dressed in a Native American costume holding a purple ribbon, the other in frontiersman costume with a coonskin cap.  The pair are sitting in a canoe in a river of blue and white flowers pointed at a man in a black robe with long white hair in front of a large tower made of red flowers, possibly representing Fort Vancouver.  The side of the float reads \"Fort-Vancouver.\"  The Portland Rose Festival Parade is an annual event in which floats are made out of flowers and paraded down the streets of Portland.  According to donor processed on June 14, 1964.",
