Nisei male. Born April 11, 1928, in Modesto, California. Grew up in Modesto, where parents ran a laundry business and then a farm. During World War II, removed to the Merced Assembly Center, California, and the Granada (Amache) concentration camp, Colorado. After leaving camp, finished school in Chicago, Illinois, and served in the National Guard. Remained living in Chicago.
