Photographed are Japanese women dressed in kimono visiting a shrine to worship on New Year's Day. The caption reads: Right after World War II, all women were wearing work pants but I saw many women wearing beautiful kimonos to visit a shrine to worship on New Year's Day. They pulled out their kimonos from chests for New Year's Day. I saw people visiting shrines for new born babies and visiting temples. [In Japanese]. Item from: George Naohara scrapbook: Korean War and before leaving Japan (csudh_nao_0600).
