Nisei female. Born September 21, 1929, in Bakersfield, California. Following the bombing of Pearl Harbor, was removed to the Poston concentration camp, Arizona. After leaving camp, returned with family to Bakersfield before eventually moving to Sacramento, California.

Nisei male. Born January 19, 1915, in Sacramento, California. During World War II, sent to the Topaz concentration camp, Utah. Volunteered for the military out of camp, and was recruited to serve in the Military Intelligence Service.

Nisei male. Born December 8, 1916, in Hawaii. Was already in the army when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Served with the Military Intelligence Service as a translator at the Pentagon and in Europe.

Nisei male. Born October 3, 1918, in Sacramento, California. During World War II, was drafted out of the Poston concentration camp, Arizona. Served with the Military Intelligence service as a translator and interpreter in India, Burma and Japan.

Nisei female. Grew up in West Los Angeles, California, where parents farmed. During World War II, removed to the Manzanar concentration camp, California. Left camp to attend college in Des Moines, Iowa, and eventually settled in Portland, Oregon.

Nisei female. Born July 21, 1926, in Petersburg, Alaska. Both mother and father were jailed in Petersburg after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Incarcerated at the Puyallup Assembly Center, Washington, and Minidoka concentration camp, Idaho. Resettled in Seattle, Washington.
