Incarcerated at the Puyallup Assembly Center, Washington, and Minidoka concentration camp, Idaho. Resisted draft orders and was imprisoned at McNeil Island Penitentiary, Washington. Resettled in Seattle area after release.

This collection consist of photographs and documents from a Nisei man from Tacoma, Washington. During World War II, he served in France and Italy with the 100th Battalion and later with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team when the 100th became the 442nd's 1st Battalion.

Grew up in Seattle, Washington, before being incarcerated in the Puyallup Assembly Center, Washington, and the Minidoka concentration camp, Idaho. Volunteered in the 442nd Regimental Combat team out of camp, and eventually returned to Seattle after World War II.

Coproprietor of Higo Variety Store in Seattle's International District with sister, Masako; the family-owned Japanese American business has been in operation since 1923.
