White male. Born July 7, 1939, in Salinas, California. Parents owned and operated a farm in the Salinas area prior to World War II. During the war, father helped neighboring Japanese American farmers by taking care of their land.

Lilly Kodama Interview (ddr-densho-1001-19)
Nisei female. Born 1935 in Bainbridge Island, Washington. Grew up on Bainbridge Island before being removed with family to Manzanar concentration camp, California, in 1942. Later transferred to Minidoka concentration camp, Idaho, and eventually returned to Bainbridge with family.
