Dearest Molly,

Many many thanks for the nice postcard! I certainly hope you enjoyed your trip to Oakland and ‘Frisco! Will you please forgive me for not writing any sooner? You see, I’m going my bit for Uncle Sam right here in this assembly center! I’m working with other making camouflage nets! At first, I was working at the mess hall, but I decided to make myself useful, so here I am! From 7:30 A.M–4:30 P.M. and $12.– a month! Due to this evacuation, the making of the nets has to stop —so tomorrow is the last day!

Speaking of evacuation, Yuriko Shimokochi, Diana Hanafusa, Michiko Tanaka, and many others are leaving for Wyoming sometimes this week! Diana is leaving tomorrow morning! Mitzie and Tsuruko left Sunday (yesterday) morning at approximately 8:-A.M. It certainly was a sad occasion. All the former “Angeleno’s are being parted! Tets Kojima, Choo-Choo Tsujimoto, and others are leaving for Arkansas. (So is Notch!) Sandie and I’ll probably land in Arizona –Gila! Mary Kawakami for Colorado----get what I mean when I said we’re being separated? I hear “they’re” planning to change the schedule and our next destiny! I hope so! Sandie and I’m in the very last group to leave this camp! There won’t be anyone to see us off! Isn’t it sad? (I think so!) Well, wherever we go, I hope…

…I’ll, at the very least, get to go with some of my friends (Wish me luck né?) Did you know that the people in Manzanar and Tule Lake are to be relocated again in another state inland? (Possibly Arizona!) Before I forget; I “think” the last group (Me) is going to be moved between October 17th-20th! It may be changed to a sooner date, because of the horse races!

Mrs. Clarkson, Mrs. E. Hansen, and Miss Tester visited a few of us about few times! Gee, we were so excited! It was good to see them again! Mr. & Mrs. Bailey and their family came too! Gosh, you can’t imagine how we felt! It was really swell! Our whole family went to the visiting house to see them! Say, can’t you and Joyce get together and visit us one of these days? Sandie, Violet, and Kaz and I would like to see you and the others once again while confined in this camp!

I’d better be closing now! Write, won’t you? Please send my regards to the family and Doris R.!

Love,

June Yoshigai
