Dear Molly,
Gee! Thanks a million for your graduation picture. Congratulations. I sure (am) happy for you. Graduating a half a term ahead of time. I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed your graduation. Yes! I enjoyed mine. There wasn’t anything to do after the graduation exercise and there wasn’t any place to go to so they held a little reception for us with a little dancing. Oh, yes, we had a Sr & Jr prom. It was pretty good although I didn’t stay for the whole thing. We walked out just before the end. We were in cap & gowns too. The girls in white and the boys in Navy Blue. We were lined up boy, girl, boy, girl, etc. While on the stage it was one row of girls (white), one row of boys (blue) so it looked like this, one row of white, then a…

…row of blue, then white, blue, etc. There were 174 graduates, that’s a pretty big class for a dinky and dumpy place like this.
Please excuse the pencil. I loaned my pen to someone last night and it hasn’t come back yet.
Are you working? What are you doing everyday? Really there are millions of questions I can ask you, but I guess I won’t bore you with them. Gee! You sure came out nice in that picture. I can’t get over it, really I can’t.
I guess things have changed a lot around there. I sure miss it. You’ll be pretty busy from now on, huh! After vacation you’ll be going to college and that keeps a person pretty busy. You’ll have to study pretty hard, but I guess you’re used to studying. You always…

Molly I took some pictures in my cap & gown. The picture is not like yours, it’s a snap shot. That’s the only thing could do. As soon as I get them developed I’ll send you one. It’s pretty hard to get film out here and I know it’s hard to get them in L.A. too. I was just plain lucky to get one roll and I sure had a hard time getting it.
Do you hear from Sandie? I very seldom see her, but I guess you hear from her quite often. You two were such good friends when we were out there.
Well, I guess better close and say good-bye. It’s getting close to lunch time. I heard we’re having beans. Well, Be Good Molly, don’t celebrate too much.
