Dear Molly:

Thanks for dropping me a line. It’s sure been a long time since I last wrote. I’ve been going to school as usual.

Our school is not a real school so we don’t have things like caps and gowns.

Right now I’m going to summer school to make up credits. If things turn out ok —I’m going to college this September. It’ll be the happiest moment in my life. Then when I go to college —I can have things like a graduation —cap and gowns —prom —pictures.

Everyone is leaving camp to go out to work or go school.  Once you go out —it’s hard to get back in.

I don’t intend to come back in so I haven’t much to worry about. I intend to go to Kansas City, Missouri…

…There’s a dance going on right in our mess-hall —man! is the music solid! I can’t even write. My man went out  so I haven’t anyone to go out with. Wish he was here. Looks I’m never going to see him again unless he comes in for a visit. Oh well slip the whole subject.

I haven’t much to say so I’ll sign off before I bore you. Well —so long. Keep well.

Sincerely,

Yuri Shimokochi
