Dear Molly,

Thank you a lot for your swell graduation picture. It sure came out good!

June Yoshigai sent me one too. She sure is cute now. The Seniors who graduated from Amache had caps and gowns too. They girls were all white while the boys were navy blue. The graduation was held in the new high school aud. (also is the gym!) The Seniors really had everything! Senior ditch day,…

…Senior Banquet, Baccalaureate, Commencement, Prom, etc. It was really nice. Their class colors were maroon and white. Our class colors are royal blue and white.

We had a big carnival here last week and it was a great success. The Girl Reserves helped out in the booths. I was working in the watermelon booth. Boy! We sure did sell! Our booth alone made $460.00! Not a bad sum huh? You should have seen the bingo booths! One booth brought in $300.00 in one night only. All together there were three…

…bingo booths, so they really must have brought in a lot! The center silk screen project was giving out carnival souvenirs so enclosed is a little souvenir. This new project call the “silk screen” can really put out some nice things. Our high school annual’s title page was silk screened too. It has a real velvety finish.

I haven’t found much time to write to my friends because I’m working now as an assistant teacher in the elementary school. I get only $16 but it keeps me busy during the summer months.

Did you hear about the…

…segregation movement? This movement is going to start September 1. This camp is expecting 1000 more people. Heard that Rowher and Jerome in Arkansas are to be the camps for the disloyal. I’m pretty sure Amache will be one of the loyal camps.

Saw Seiichi last week. He came to visit his parents from Minnesota. Left for Chicago already (still is lanky & tall!)

Heard from Bill Samarin the other day. -------Joe Takahashi has volunteered for the army. ------- Shigeko Sakamoto is going to enter Temple Univ. -----

No room so I’ll sign off.

Love,

Sandie
