PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, for 30 years the Atlantic Street Center has been well served by its dedicated Executive Director, Tsuguo "Ike" Ikeda; and
WHEREAS, under Ike's capable leadership, youth of all races and religious affiliations have received counseling services and a genuine sense of caring so reflective of the personality and character of the agency's director; and
WHEREAS, Ike has given of himself far beyond the boundaries of the Atlantic Street Center to our schools, community, and churches; and
WHEREAS, Ike is a fine example of what an active church layman can accomplish; and
WHEREAS, those of us in City government and the public we serve appreciate and admire the many contributions Ike has made to bettering our society;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHARLES ROYER, Mayor of the City of Seattle, do hereby proclaim Thursday, March 22, 1984, as IKE IKEDA APPRECIATION DAY in Seattle, so that all the people of our city can recognize Ike's genuine commitment and unselfish contributions to our families and youth.
