URGE EXCLUSION OF JAPANESE
Federation of Mission Clubs Warmly Indorses "Chronicle's" Attitude on Labor.

The subject of the Japanese as a menace to American labor engaged the attention of the delegates to the Federation of Mission Improvement Clubs last night, and after a careful and exhaustive discussion of the various phases of the problem the following resolution was drawn up and adopted:

"Whereas, The Federation of Mission Improvement Clubs, fully recognizing the importance of the Japanese menace to the United States, its industries and its people; be it

"Resolved, That the Federation of Mission Improvement Clubs heartily indorses the attitude of the "Chronicle" in this direction and urges the continuance of the good work."

The Federation includes delegates from the Protrero Club, the West of Castro Club, University Mound Club, Market Street and Eureka Valley Club and the Noe Valley Club. A visiting delegation was also present from the Excelsior District Club.

At the latest meeting of the Federation an inquiry was made into the alleged expenditure of $924 on the San Bruno road, charges being made at that time that the Board of Public Works had nothing whatever to show for the money expended. The matter was referred to a committee for investigation, and at the meeting last night, Chairman G.H. Roundy reported that their suspicions had been confirmed. A careful search had been made, but no improvements such as might be expected from the alleged outlay were found. The Federation will at once make an official report to the Street Committee of the Supervisors and demand an official inquiry as to the whereabouts of the funds.

The various clubs in the Mission are now engaged in preparing their lists of wants for their respective districts, which lists will be presented to the Supervisors so that the various improvements planned may be carried out.
