WILLIAM OKAZAKI, ISLAND NISEI, JOINS U.S. ARMY

HUNT, Ida., Wednesday, June 23--With the fifth contingent of United States Army volunteers from Minidoka went William Okazaki, son of Mrs. M. Okazaki, Winslow.
He headed for the Fort Douglas Induction Center in Utah for his final physical examination before adopting khaki life. A popular '40 graduate of Bainbridge High School, Bill starred on the basketball and baseball teams. After induction, he will report to Camp Shelby, Miss., for training in the Japanese-American Combat Unit where his brother, Sergt. Nabo Okazaki, is now stationed.

On Sunday evening, June 6, Miss Toshiko Katayama, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. Katayama, Winslow, became the bride of Kumeo Tsubahara, formerly of Seattle. The two were united by Reverend Kodaira at an informal ceremony held in the home of the groom. The wedding was attended by close friends and relatives. The bride is a '36 graduate of Bainbridge High School.

CENTER TIDBITS -- Leaving Marengo, Ill., was George Chihara . . . . . Akio Suyematsu, smashed his arm in a conveyor belt while working with a construction crew at Twin Falls, Ida., His arm is swollen, but he suffered no broken bones . . . . . Chiyeko Oyama left Hunt for domestic work in Twin Falls.
