Felix Norte In Visit To Friends At Manzanar

MANZANAR, Calif., Wednesday, October 14--Felix Norte, Fletcher Bay Filipino, visited the Frank Kitamoto family here over the weekend.

Mr. Norte manages the Kitamoto farm at Fletcher Bay. Especially glad to see him were the Kitamoto children, to whom the evacuation still is a puzzle.

SCHOOL--BUT NOT FOR ALL

After many delays, Manzanar High School opened its doors last week, but former Bainbridge High School students did not attend. They were waiting for official transcripts to arrive from the Island. If they do not arrive soon, they will be required to retake many subjects which they already had passed on the Island.

'WE'RE OKEH'

"We're OK," was the general word received from the Island's large number of voluntary beet and potato field workers now in Montana and Idaho. They reported living variously in improvised box-car homes and in spacious rooms.
