Aliens Register Today At Blakely P.O.

Registration of enemy alien residents of Bainbridge Island is scheduled to take place in the Port Blakely postoffice today, Mrs. Margaret E. Seward, postmaster, said yesterday.

Last week it was believed there would be no registration of aliens here because the Island does not have either second or first class postoffices, the appointed places for registration throughout the nation.

However, through arrangements made with George E. Starr, Seattle postmaster, an attendant of his office will be at Port Blakely all day today, Mrs. Seward said.

Registration blanks were distributed to Island alien Japanese last Saturday. Mrs. Seward said no blanks were requested by enemy Germans or Italians.

Fingerprinting will be part of the registration. The postoffice will be open until 5:30 o'clock in the afternoon. The Pacific Coast registration period ends Saturday.
