LEGION HITS U.S. JAPANESE

It was a unanimous vote by which the annual state convention of the American Legion voted to oust all Japanese from the United States after the war, V.E. Uhrich, Winslow, said this week.

The convention also frowned on formation of Japanese-American combat units in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Uhrich, commander of Colin Hyde Post, No. 172, attended the Wenatchee convention as alternate delegate. Carl Pratt, Winslow, was the Island post's delegate.

Mr. Uhrich also said that the convention's child welfare committee praised the juvenile delinquency work of the Island post.

Another Islander to attend the convention was Mrs. Fred Earp, Port Madison, representing the auxiliary from Roosevelt Post, Seattle.
